Xiran Jay Zhao has a YouTube channel with over half a million subscribers discussing various aspects of Chinese culture, mythology, philosophy, and its portrayals in western media. As someone who has loved Zhao’s video content and the summary of this book, I was more than a little disappointed by it. I will share my thoughts on Xiran Zhao’s debut novel, Iron Widow.
